Individual therapy
When providing individual therapy, I help people understand and improve their relationship with themselves. When we struggle with challenges like low self-esteem, addiction, anxiety and trauma, we can feel out of control of our own bodies and in conflict with ourselves. I help you untangle this conflict to understand where it comes from and what is sustaining it, so that you can make changes which give you a more harmonious relationship with yourself.

My areas of experience in individual therapy include:
-
Sex addiction
-
Regulating difficult emotions
-
Anxiety and trauma recovery
-
Low self-esteem and critical thinking
-
Relationship issues
As an individual therapist, I use a blend of different approaches in my work. One is Attachment Theory, which explores how our formative relationships shape how we navigate the world and relationships. Another is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which considers how our emotions, thoughts and behaviours interact. The third is Person Centred Therapy, which emphasises the importance of the relationship between the therapist and client, and explores where our self-worth comes from.

I take a trauma informed approach, namely exploring how traumatic events in the past can affect our experiences in the present. I also have a deep interest in the role of forgiveness and self-forgiveness in improving our wellbeing, and sometimes explore these themes in therapy where I feel it would be beneficial.
